Clifford Joseph Harris Jr. aka ‘Rapper T.I.’ and wife arrested on drug charges
September 3rd, 2010 - 10:45 pm ICT by Aishwarya Bhatt ( Leave a comment )Sep 3 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Clifford Joseph Harris Jr. better known as Rapper T.I. has been arrested along with his wife Tameka Cottle on the possession of drug charges.
According to the Los Angeles sheriff deputy Mark Pope, the couple was arrested for possession of a controlled substance on Wednesday night. The couple had stopped their vehicle on a traffic stop and the officers could smell marijuana smoke emitting from their vehicle. They were subsequently arrested.
According to a police official, “Deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A narcotics investigation ensued” and then the couple was arrested.
Tameka Cottle is a 36-year-old singer and she was also booked along with her 29-year-old rapper husband at the West Hollywood sheriff’s station. Their bail has been set to $10,000.
There is no clarity over the fact that they are still in custody or were out of the jail on Thursday morning.
This is not the first time that the rapper has had a brush with the law. He has also spent several months behind bars for the possession of illegal firearms. He was released in December 2009 from a federal state prison located in Arkansas.
