Classical Music Concerts In Store For Mumbaikars Next Month!

Thousands of music lovers yet opt to listen to classical music to spend their evening in a calm and soothing manner. The classical music maestros have lots of admirers even today in the city and that is proved when the city is organizing various classical music concerts during the month of December this year. It seems like the Mumbaikars want to bid adieu to the year 2010 in a classical note!
Recently, the Ghazal king Pankaj Udhas gave a wonderful performance in the city. Apart from him, we have seen magical performances of veterans like Jagjit Singh, Bhupinder and Mitali Singh. The listeners are now asking for more in the coming days. The hustle bustle of the city has tempted the people to ask for some relaxing musical moments.
On Decemebr 11, Smt. Kalpana Zokharkar will enthrall the Mumbai audience with her classical vocal performance at Bhavan’s Cultural Centre of Bhavan’s College in Andheri. The program will start at 6.30 pm. Zokharkar, from Gwalior Gharana will be accompanied by Anant Joshi in Harmonium and Girish Nalavade in Tabla.
The following evening will be the turn of renowned Hindustani classical music singer Shubha Mudgal. She will perform at the ‘Prithvi Theatre’ in Juhu at 8 pm. Sudhir Nayak will be accompanying her in harmonium and Anessh Pradhaan in Tabla.
The coming days will have few other such classical music evening throughout the city and hopefully the classical lovers will enjoy to their fullest.
