clems Hollywood, May 11 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Saxophonist of the ‘E Street Band’ – Clarence Clemons is a winner all the way. Despite having major spinal surgery in January, he was back on the stage. The noted saxophonist performed on Saturday, at a Hollywood benefit program and the proceeds were sent to a children’s charity – Home Safe.

He is recuperating from the major surgery, and is still dependant on his crutches and his wheelchair, but apparently that was no constraint to performing on stage. In a recent interview to the Associated Press, he mentioned that he is doing his best to be back on his feet as soon as possible, even though he is battling with severe chronic pain and the post-surgery depression.

And this is not the first time that Clarence has shown his heroic side. Because last year he had double knee replacement surgery and he was confined to a wheelchair, but apparently that was not enough to stop him from performing with Bruce Springsteen at the Super Bowl.

He even said in a lighter vein that, “God will give you no more than you can handle. This is all a test to see if you are really ready for the good things that are going to come in your life. All this pain is going to come back and make me stronger. Of all the surgeries I’ve had, there’s not much left to operate on. I am totally bionic.”
