Claire DanesFeb 5, (THAINDIAN NEWS) HBO has come up with a new film that captures the world trough the eyes of an autistic patient. The person chosen to play the role is Clair Danes, who spent months practicing being to be able to play the autistic. Reportedly, she listened to Temple Grandin without an end, trying to get the ‘gruff abruptness’ the way it was needed. She even claimed that the ‘temple speak’ had her totally engrossed in the work and that she ’slipped into the temple mode automatically’ when she met Temple Grandin in Los Angeles. Further, she also admitted the encounter to be quite embarrassing.

Claire Danes will be portraying the role of an animal behavior scientist who is described as a “hero in the autism community”. She even claims that the role has been her hardest till date since it required more practice and more research than any of her other roles ever demanded. The actress also said that she didn’t “just want to do an impression” of Temple Grandin since both of them are “wired differently”.

The movie’s director, Mike Jackson seems to have been counting on the fact that the actress would put in more than was required and expected of her, when he chose her for the role. “She was my first choice”, said the director elaborating the fact that he found her very disciplined, brave and also focused. Further he also said that the “obsession (she had) with getting it right is very much like Temple”.

Claire Dane’s portrayal of 62-year-old Temple Grandin is being cited as Emmy-worthy. The movie is to release on the 6th of this month across USA.
