Church wants Susan Boyle to sing for Pope Benedict XVI when he visits Britain

Susan Boyle Edinburg, Apr 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Scotland’s Roman Catholic Church wants the ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ discovery Susan Boyle to sing for Pope Benedict XVI. The Pope would visit Britain in September 2010, and the Church thought that Susan Boyle would be a ‘great asset’ in the Pope’s itinerary. A spokesman for the Church said that they want to meet the singer, so that they could work out the dates for the event, when the Pope would attend the public Mass in Glasgow.

“She certainly would be a great asset to the programme on the day and we hope to be able to discuss the possibility of her participation soon,” according to the spokesman of the Scotland Church. However he also added that till now there has been no formal meeting with Susan Boyle regarding this matter, and neither has she been invited to a meeting, as of now.

Pope Benedict XVI would be on an official visit to Britain from the 16th of September to the 19th of September 2010. He would visit Glasgow, London and Coventry. He would also beatify a 19th century theologian – Cardinal John Henry Newman in Coventry.

Susan Boyle’s album ‘I dreamed a dream’ was the best selling album of 2009, both in the UK and in the US.
