Christopher Plummer’s Caesar Act Shown On CTV

Christopher PlummerDec.28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The theater lovers have a penchant for watching the acting skills and histrionics of veteran actor Christopher Plummer. He wowed the viewers with his awe inspiring performance in Caesar and Cleopatra where he played the role of Roman emperor Julius Caesar. That was in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival of 2008. Yesterday it was shown on CTV. Those who have missed the program can buy the DVD of the performance after contacting the Stratford Shakespeare Festival.

Christopher Plummer rose to fame after he donned the hat of Captain Von Trapp in the timeless movie “The Sound of Music”. He got nominated for the much coveted Tony awards for 7 times. He has also acted in a number of legendary Broadway productions including “The Dark is Light Enough”, “Othello”, “No Man’s Land”, “King Lear”, “Inherit the Wind” and many more. For many of these productions he won a number of prestigious awards. As per the plans, he will act in 2010 Stratford Festival in The Tempest along with Nikki M. James. His career spans over 5 decades. He also acted ins several TV films.

He got lots of critical acclaim for his sterling performance in The Insider a movie that got Oscar nomination. Ron Howard’s “A Beautiful Mind” which bagged Academy awards had him playing the role of Dr. Rosen. The 2006 flick “Inside man”, directed by Spike Lee ha him essaying the role of Arthur Case. In the epic Saga Alexander he played the role of philosopher and visionary Aristotle. Though his most successful movie is The sound Of Music it is not his personal favorite.
