The Middle TV show By Anita Thomas
With Christmas upon us in a few short weeks, Frankie Heck was writing her yearly family review. She sits and begins to reminisce about everything the family has experienced throughout the entire year. She wrote of Axl having a job and learning responsibilities. She thought about Sue her underachiever bracing wearing daughter. Sue always tried hard to get involved with school activities, but nothing ever seemed to work out. Frankie thought more about what Sue had accomplished and soon realized she did have news worth sharing, Sue had a boyfriend.

Brick, the youngest member of the Heck family was pondering what the meaning of Christmas was. While Frankie is enjoying her part in the Christmas Choir Concert, she is relying on Mike to handle the Christmas chores around the home while her evenings are spend practicing. As he begins to make the home look and feel like Christmas, Frankie becomes upset that she is not able to participate in the traditions such as putting up the tree and arranging the Christmas village.

Although while Brick was still not finding the true meaning of Christmas his father Mike was trying to explain to him about Santa. With is big brown wide eyes looking up at his father, the only thing his father could say was “If you keep whispering Santa isn’t going to bring you any presents.” Brick was shocked and scared.

Christmas Eve has arrived and the choir concert was set to begin and the only Heck family member there was Frankie, her husband and children were running late and Frankie was not happy. Arriving late in the middle of her solo, they knew she was upset. On the way home the Heck family argument made Axl feel like it was Christmas and Brick could not stop whispering which made him think he was not getting any gifts. After all was said and done and a near death experience from Brick, he discovered the meaning of Christmas in a Santa Pez candy dispenser. A true miracle he thought was finding it on Christmas Eve after missing for almost two years.
