Nov 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Christina Aguilera proved yet again that she has what it takes to be a pop icon as she gave a stellar performance at the AMAs 2010. In spite of the stage being graced by some of the new age pop stars like Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus, the ‘Genie In A Bottle’ star managed to hold her own and left the audience wanting for more. Her song, ‘Express’ was taken from her upcoming movie ‘Burlesque’ where she plays a small town girl who stumbles upon a burlesque club and discovers a new passion in the dance. Yesteryear’s pop icon, Cher, is also a part of the movie that is sure to have some risque moves by the sultry ladies.

At the AMAs, Christina Aguilera sported a daring black Basque that was complemented by high lacy boots and a fishnet stocking. The performance started off with Christina Aguilera seated in a chair with her back towards the audiences. She snapped her fingers and began to swoon to the new up-tempo track of her new movie and as the camera zoomed-out, the lingerie clad dancers around her became visible and so was the rest of the stage that was set-up like a burlesque club. Soon Christina Aguilera was seen getting into the groove and hit some of her high notes that she is famous for. The dancers provided ample oomph in the performance and ensured that they too grabbed the eye-balls of the star-struck audience.

Christina Aguilera spoke about the performance before the show and said that the audience will get an insight into the movie through her performance. She also said that she her legs were sore from the dancing that she had to practice during the shooting of the film.
