Christina Aguilera Offers Apology For Botching Up National Anthem

agFeb 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The American recording artist and actress Christina Aguilera was given the fantastic opportunity to sing the national anthem of America in-front of 100 millions of audiences at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. However, it came as a shock to the audience at the stadium when the “Burlesque” singer fumbled and muffed up the lyrics of the song “The Star-Spangled Banner”. Instead of singing, “O’er the ramparts we watch’d, were so gallantly streaming”, the singer sang “What so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last gleaming”! This grave mistake has been criticized badly by all the listeners were shocked to hear such a grave mistake by a notable singer. However, after the event, Christina Aguilera gave an interview to a reputed media outlet and released an official statement where she apologized for her gaffe.

In the public apology, Christina Aguilera stated that she was caught up in the moment so badly that she lost her place and forgot her lyrics. The singer said that she could only hope that the nation understands her love for the country. However, the singer said that she could retain the true spirit of the anthem and urged the audience to realize it.

Initially, neither Christina Aguilera nor his representative had commented anything about the matter but the singer’s apology has been appreciated by many people. Singer Natasha Bedingfield took to social networking site to state that Christina Aguilera performed really well and she sung her heart out in her performance. Pussycat Dolls hottie Nicole Scherzinger also praised Christina Aguilera’s performance, in her statement she said that the “Burlesque” singer did a great job.
