London, Feb 8 (ANI): Christina Aguilera had to apologise after mixing up the words to the National Anthem during the Super Bowl.
The 30-year-old singer, who sang the Star Spangled Banner before the game started, claimed that she ‘got lost in the moment’ during her performance.
“I got so lost in the moment of the song that I lost my place. I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and the true spirit of it’s anthem still came through,” the Daily Mail quoted her as saying in a statement.
Sources have said that the singer was incredibly upset after her performance, and decided to head home rather than attend any celebratory after-parties. (ANI)
