Christian Dior still in search for Galliano successor
July 15th, 2011 - 4:01 pm ICT by IANSLondon, July 15 (IANS) Fashion house Christian Dior is in search for someone to succeed the sacked designer John Galliano.
Galliano was fired as Christian Dior’s creative director in March this year after a video showed him apparently drunk, telling a woman in a cafe that he “loved Hitler”.
“We want to (make) the best choice for the house and find the best conductor,” said Bernard Arnault, who runs the fashion house.
Sidney Toledano, the chief executive officer of Christian Dior, said that the company is sustained by its technical people.
“A lot of schools produce designers but the technical people - this is what we have to protect. They work very hard here, and they live outside of Paris. They are not living like the designer. They are simple people. Some of them have a difficult life. They have their feet on the ground. They’re sustaining the house,” femalefirst.co.uk quoted Toledano as saying.
