Here is a good piece of news for all the Chris Sarandon fans. The cult horror series that began in 1985 “Fright Night”, will make a grand come back and the veteran actor will be once again be starring its remake. In the first part, Chris Sarandon, played the role of the lead vampire, Jerry Dandridge. However, this time, his cult on screen character will be played by Collin Farrell. Chris Sarandon role in the film has net yet been revealed.

Initial rumors revealed that Chris Sarandon will be playing the role of Peter Vincent, the vampire killer. But it soon faded away as it was confirmed that David Tennant would play that role. The new version of the movie will be directed by Craig Gillespie, who is very excited about this new project. He says, that the retro look of the 80s worked well back at that time. However, it might not be very acceptable twenty five years later. So keeping the “the gore factor” alive, he will call for certain alteration that would be appealing for the younger generation too. The other star caste for the new version of “Fright Night” would be, Anton Yelchin, Tonie Collette, Sandra Vergara, Christopher and Mintz-Plasse. The film will be shot in 3D with Paradise FX’s Tri. Produced by Disney, this film will be released in October 2011, if everything goes smoothly.

Chris Sarandon, has been a very popular actor in the eighties and nineties. Some of his popular movies were Edie & Pen, American Perfekt, Let the Devil Wear Black, Dog Day Afternoon The Sentinel Goodbye, Miss Fourth Of July, Collision Course. He has also been an ace theatrical artist.
