chris3Los Angeles, Apr 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Christopher Meloni, who plays the role of detective Elliot Stabler in the popular NBC show “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit” has cleared the doubts of millions of viewers by saying that he is not going to ditch the show and will remain in it. Rumors spread recently that Christopher Meloni is going to abandon “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit” after one of his statement in an interview was reportedly misquoted and misunderstood by many.

During an interview with an Australian newspaper for a story, Christopher Meloni said that he feels twelve years is enough for him in the show and that it would be a difficult transition for him. The statement quoted by the newspaper gave an impression that the actor was leaving the show before its completion. However, after getting the inkling of the communication gap, Christopher Meloni gave another interview where he defied the rumors as “lies” and said that by the statement he meant that he holds twelve years contract with the show, and that the end of the contract means the end of his appearance in the show. He went on to mention that if he is contacted by the producer again then he can go for a talk. He also said that it was his fault and not the reporter’s, as the actor failed to frame it correctly.

Christopher Meloni has been playing the role of detective Elliot Stabler since the premier of the show back in the year 1999. Since then he has gained huge popularity. The actor mentioned that he still holds a year’s contract with the show.
