Sep 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actor Chris Klein recently served four days in jail, and was given four years probation for his second DUI charge in the last five years. He also finished a two month rehab program for driving under the influence back in June.

The star of ‘American Pie’ and ‘Rollerball’ was given his second DUI on June 16 and was sentenced on September 3. Before his sentencing hearing, however, he had already taken care of the jail time and spent ninety-six hours behind bars, as well as completed two months in rehab.

Judge David B Gelfound listened as Klein apologized for his crimes and stated, “I apologize for my wrongdoing and I really appreciate the court giving me the opportunity to prove how seriously I took all of this,” according to ‘TMZ’.

The judge then sentenced Klein to four years of probation, and number of fines, and ordered him to complete an eighteen month DUI course. The actor will also be required to keep an “ignition interlock device” on his vehicle at all times.

Klein’s attorney, Blair Berk, expressed his approval of the actor, to ‘People’ magazine, for having already taken care of some of his punishment before the sentence hearing. “Chris took immediate responsibility for what he did and has used this experience in such a positive way to get help to confront an addiction to alcohol,” Berk told ‘People’ magazine. “He deserves enormous credit for stepping up and getting it done.”
