031910_evans1New York, Mar 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) “Fantastic Four” star Chris Evans has been selected to play the role of “Captain America”. Chris Evans happens to be the latest addition to the list of actors who are a part of the title-role-cast dilemma that has been in existence for quite some time now. Following the major box office success of Marvel Comics “Iron Man” that had Robert Downey Jr, in its title role the makers had decided to go for a movie version of another Marvel Comics hero “Captain America”.

Since then, the title role auditions has been through major dilemma as many potential actors had been lined up for the role. They had been auditioned and subsequently been rejected. The list is pretty long that includes Channing Tatum, the ex “G.I. Joe” followed by Chace Crawford and Garrett Hedland. Director Joe Johnston had made it clear that the actor to be cast in the lead role should be an American and it seemed that Chris Evans who had previously done his bid in “Fantastic Four” as the human torch would suit the frame nice. “Matrix” and “Wolfman” star Hugo Weaving has already been signed to essay the role of “Red Skull” the baddie opposite to “Captain America.”

The movie happens to be the second one where both Hugo Weaving and director Joe Johnston will be working alongside, the first being the “Wolfman”. “Captain America: The First Avenger” will hit the production floors in the month of June U.K. in June. Chris Evans who was once called upon by “Forbes” to be one of the “Most Bankable Stars” owing to his gross earnings has made it big with his movies like “Fantastic Four” and “Not Another Teen Movie”.
