Dec.11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The change of positions in ABC network continues with popular host of Good Morning America, Chris Cuomo leaving the show for 20/20. At that show he will have to share desk with co anchor Elizabeth Vargas. The news has been confirmed by ABC. Friday is the last day he will anchor for GMA. Diane Sawyer the lead anchor is going to be substituted by George Stephanopolus, a political analyst. She has been given the responsibility of working with ABC’s World News Tonight program.

As a matter of fact, Cuomo became almost a part and parcel of GMA. He anchored the show for the past three years. He admitted that it was quite hard for him to move to a new program as he became attached to GMA for the last few years. He also said that initially he was in a dilemma about changing his position. However, it is still not clear who is going to fill his void in GMA. Chris is the son of Mario Cuomo, New York’s former governor. Chris possesses a degree in law and worked as a news reporter in ABC’s Primetime and GMA.

In 20/20 Chris will get to do something different compared to what he has done so far in GMA. He will be seen announcing breaking news to the viewers. Apart from that he will have to receive inputs about various shows. It will be a platform to demonstrate his communicative and analytical skills. Chris will enjoy his new job but he feels that he will miss the times spent with the regular viewers of GMA.
