Chris Brown’s sentencing delayed

Los Angeles, Aug 6 (IANS) Singer Chris Brown’s sentencing for assault on his then girlfriend has been delayed to allow Los Angeles County Superior Court judge Patricia Schnegg more time to assess how tough his community service should be.
The judge made it clear during a hearing in June that she preferred hard labour over community service for the singer as part of his punishment for attacking ex-girlfriend Rihanna in February, reported contactmusic.com.
Brown will serve five years’ probation in his home state of Virginia and Schnegg delayed her sentencing in court Wednesday, insisting she needed more information from Brown’s home state about what type of work the singer was likely to perform.
When the singer struck a plea deal with prosecutors in June, the judge insisted Brown should perform physically difficult and unglamorous work.
Brown, who attended the sentencing hearing with his mother, is scheduled to return to court Aug 27.
