June 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The BET Awards night held a few surprises for the fans and loads and loads of star-power. The awards hosted performances by the biggest stars in the music industry. With performances form Alicia Keys, Chris Brown, Keyshia Cole, Eminem, Usher, TI and Kanye West, the BET Awards night stretched well over three hours. Chris Brown’s tribute turned out to become one of the emotional highlights of the evening as he broke down during his cover of ‘Man In The Mirror’.

Chris Brown started off his performance with Michael Jackson’s ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’. In spite of the reputation surrounding the 21 year old singer managed to win the audience with his perfect moves. He then moved to ‘Billie Jean’ making the audience nostalgic about the King of Pop. With the signature Michael Jackson outfit from the ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’ video, Chris Brown looked the part to pay the tribute and danced to perfection. His performance was however scheduled to end with the thought provoking song ‘Man In The Mirror’.

The last song became too hard for Rihanna’s ex-boyfriend as he kept wiping the tears and lost his voice. He became a hot search on the web and his break down became a great debate as people began to speculate its cause. For some viewers, Chris Brown’s emotions were due to the magnanimity of the King of Pop and his sad demise whereas some say that the song which talks about starting a change in the ‘Man In The Mirror’ was just too personal for the star who became an object of public hatred for beating up his former girlfriend.
