Los Angeles, Dec.19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The much acclaimed choreographer Shane Sparks was taken into custody in Los Angeles on Friday on charges of child molestation. The news is a rude shock to all the fans of the reputed hip-hop choreographer who is known to have been part of popular reality series ‘So You Think You Can Dance’.

According to reports, the choreographer has been charged with around nine counts of felony molestation and at the same time is being held on bail amounting to $590,000. After being arrested from his Hollywood home early Friday morning, Shane Sparks in supposedly being kept at the Van Nuys Jail. Bruce Borihanh, a spokesperson of the Los Angeles Police Department has added that the choreographer was arrested after investigations revealed that he was responsible for molesting a teenager way back in the 1990s.

Meanwhile, the complaint was filed by the Los Angeles district attorney’s office, which said that Shane Sparks was guilty of sexually assaulting a girl which began in 1994 and continued for a number of times later. Moreover, at that time the young girl was below 14 years of age which resulted in child molestation charges being levied against the choreographer. The incident was brought to light, when the girl approached the authorities, which was followed by the investigation. However, as of now, no comments have been available from the choreographer or any of his representatives.

Shane Sparks, who has also been a judge on the popular show ‘America’s Best Dance Crew’, has also gained recognition by winning the American Choreography Award and has also received Emmy nomination for his work in the reality show ‘So You Think You Can Dance’.
