‘Chloe’ helmer hails Liam Neeson as ‘heroic’April 24th, 2009 - 5:03 pm ICT by ANI
Washington, Apr 24 (ANI): Irish actor Liam Neeson has been hailed by director Atom Egoyan as ‘heroic’ after he returned to the Canadian set of ‘Chloe’ just days after his wife Natasha Richardson passed away.
Egoyan, 48, revealed that it had been a “harrowing experience” for all involved, and that the only way the 56-year-old actor could have done it was because of the support he got from his loved ones.
“He called me and said, ‘You know let’s do it right away.’ It was really emotional,” People magazine quoted Egoyan as telling ET Canada.
“I think the only way he could have come back was right after because his family was all there to support his boys.
“Liam is heroic. He came back and finished,” he said.
The director went to say that Neeson, who has signed on for his first movie role since Richardson’s death at age 45, is still “in a state of shock”.
“I think he’s trying to absorb [what's happened] … He’s suddenly a single parent with absolutely no preparation for that,” he said.
“But Neeson is surrounded by people that really love him. There is a lot of support,” he added. (ANI)
