Chinese sitcom accused of copying ‘Friends’

Beijing, Aug 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The popular Chinese Sitcom which is known for producing jokes in the entertainment industry is being accused of duplicating other US shows.

After the US show Friends finished in 2004, this Chinese sitcom dodged in with the aim of enhancing the laughter industry. They were however considered as not being true as most of their jokes are derived from sitcoms like “How I met your mother”, “The Big Bang Theory” and “Friends”.

Despite of their hard work in the industry, their jokes are considered as not being original. The Sitcom commenced in 2009 and since then it has been doing well in the industry. When this was discovered it was considered as being an insult to the American producers, script writers and the American Entertainment Industry at large.

However, the producers of the Sitcom admitted the allegations and they apologized to the famous script writers. A spokesman of Sitcom reported that the incident cannot be regarded as an insult because the humor industry is a wide area of entertainment therefore, when one produces a certain script he or she has no negative intentions. He added that it cannot also be considered as plagiarism as the much content was a homage of the American Sitcom.
