China to have 3D TV channel
December 28th, 2011 - 6:17 pm ICT by IANSBeijing, Dec 28 (IANS) The trial run of China’s first 3D TV channel will start Jan 1.
The channel will officially start later in January, reported Shanghai Daily.
The satellite channel will have 3D programmes every day from 10:30 a.m. to midnight, said the official.
China Central Television, Radio and Television Beijing, Radio and Television Shanghai, Radio and Television Tianjin, Radio and Television Jiangsu Province and Shenzhen Television Station will produce the 3D content.
Animation, sports, documentaries, TV dramas, entertainment and live broadcasting of big events like the London Olympics will be telecast.
There won’t be any viewing fee during the early phase and people will need to buy a 3D TV set and install high-definition set-top-box.
