Childhood stardom led me to drugs, says Fergie
October 14th, 2009 - 5:44 pm ICT by ANILondon, October 14(ANI): Singer Fergie has said that stardom during childhood triggered her addiction to drugs.
The Black Eyed Peas believes the frustration of acting like a professional at an early age got her hooked to crystal meth and ecstasy as a kid.
“What happens when you’re a child professional is that you have to be, well, professional,” the Daily Express quoted her as saying.
“You’re taught not to have tantrums, to always people-please. That’s part of how I got into (drugs) later,” she added.
However, it has been 10 years since she has quit the bad habit.
Fergie had appeared in Disney’s Kids Incorporated from 1984 to 1990. (ANI)
