Aug 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Police have reportedly arrested the 51-year-old hairdresser, Maria Gabriella Perez who owns Chez Gabriela Studio, for defrauding high-profile celebrity clients who were regular customers at her parlor. The owner has reportedly ripped off a number of high profile clients money with credit card frauds. The high profile celebrities include Jennifer Aniston, Cher, Anne Hathaway and Melanie Griffith, Liv Tyler, to name a few.
Jennifer Aniston, in one of her interviews in “Good Morning America” said that the situation was not so “cool” with her so she stopped going to see the owner Maria Gabriella Perez and the actress added that she knew something like this is going to happen as one cannot get away with such fraud for a period of time. Cher’s representatives have not confirmed anything about it till now. The media reports that Maria Gabriella Perez is charged with two counts of fraud and if convicted she would face a maximum prison sentence of 25 years. The media was startled to see the court documents which shows that more than $214,000 was ripped off from Liv Tyler’s two credit cards last year.
Maria Gabriella Perez’s attorney Jerod Gunsberg said that the owner will be freed from all the blames very soon as his client is “innocent” and she runs a “legitimate” business. The owner’s website however mentions that Chez Gabriela Studio has given all its clients the privacy needed for their own comfort and maximum relaxation since 1986. The Assistant U.S. Attorney Wesley Hu said that after the clients had legitimate services performed at the salon Maria Gabriella Perez used to keep the credit card information and then ran unauthorized charges on the credit cards. Other than this accusation, the owner also faces the charges of stealing and pick pocketing.
