Cheryl drops Cole, uses Tweedy as last name
June 24th, 2010 - 6:13 pm ICT by IANSLondon, June 24 (IANS) Singer Cheryl, who has filed a divorce suit against her estranged husband Ashley Cole, has started using her maiden name ‘Tweedy’, it was announced during the auditions of British reality show “X Factor”.
Cheryl is in the judges panel of the show and her co-judge music mogul Simon Cowell announced that she will be using Tweedy as her last name, reports dailystar.co.uk.
“Who would like to hear from Cheryl…Tweedy. It is, now, isn’t it,” Cowell asked the audience.
It was the first time the Girls Aloud singer has chosen to be called Tweedy in public since she filed for divorce against the British football star, last month.
“The support for her was immense. When Simon announced her as Cheryl Tweedy, the whole place went up. Cheryl was beaming. It was as if a new chapter in her life had just started and she looked happier than ever,” said Kate Gibbs, a fan of Cheryl.
