Cheryl Cole October 5, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The controversial X-factor Judge Cheryl Cole chose to stand by her decision to put through the flop Cher Lloyd to the final 12 of the show. In a recent interview Cheryl revealed that she based her decision due to Cher’s super hit performances in the previous rounds. The judge further said that she believes that Cher can do a lot better.

During the recent elimination around, X-factor viewers watched in disbelief as the 17-year old Cher failed to impress the judges but still got through ahead of the top choices like Gamu Nhengu. Later Cheryl admitted that the teenager really ‘fell apart’ but she was given as second chance because of her initial performances.

Cheryl Cole defends her decision to put Cher through but she did that at the expense of other talented singers, which is unacceptable. Most of the audience are missing the ex-judge Simon Cowell, who was known for being unsympathetic towards poor performers. On the other hand Cheryl defended her judgment by praising Cher Loyd’s talent. It was quite obvious from the beginning that mediocre singers Cher Lloyd and Katie Waissel were no match for the talented Gamu Nhengu and Treyc Cohen, but they managed to secure the final 12 spot thanks to Cheryl Cole.

Certain sections of the audience, have vehemently opposed the flawed judgments. Some of the X-Factor fans also commented that they might stop voting for the show after this unfair ruling. No one expected Cher Lloyd to go through the Final 12 and it is obvious that she will have to perform extremely well to validate her mentor’s judgment. Most of the X-Factor fans are quite irate at Gamu’s elimination and this might lead to a serious loss in TRP. we hope X-Factor creators do the right thing and bring her (Gamu) back to the show.
