Nov 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Yesteryear’s pop icon Cher appeared on David Letterman’s show and spoke about her daughter’s sex change operation. The star said that she is still struggling to come to terms with the fact that her daughter had undergone the gender realignment and she still refers to her as ‘her’. She added that Chaz did not mind her getting mixed up about the pronouns.

David Letterman himself brought up the topic and then found himself confused about the pronoun that he should be using for Cher’s daughter, Chastity, who changed her name to Chaz after the gender change. Cher took the matter lightly and tried to explain that she herself faced the confusion while addressing her daughter who is now her son. She explained that she was a lesbian but later both the pop star and the host looked confused about the statement when Cher said a ‘male lesbian’. In spite of the confusion, both Cher and the talk show host supported the decision of Chaz on the show.

Cher also said that opting for gender realignment was a difficult decision that she and her daughter went over it again and again. She said that she never understood what made her daughter take the decision. Cher also bragged about her child’s dating skills and said that Chaz has a beautiful girlfriend. She admitted that her daughter talked about being trapped in the wrong body for more than a decade and thus she understood and respected her choice. The 64-year-old pop icon turned up for the interview in a daring see through black top and legging that were dangerously slashed on the sides.
