February 24th, 2010 - 12:02 pm ICT by Sampurn Wire ( Leave a comment )February 24, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Ever since Aamir Khan’s “3 Idiots’ and Shah Rukh Khan’s recent release “My Name is Khan’ triumphed at the box office, Chennaites have gradually developed more interest towards Hindi films. This Friday (Feb 26) is set to have the release of two of the most eagerly awaited films–”Karthik Calling Karthik’ and Amitabh Bachchan’s “Teen Patti’.
“Teen Patti’ doesn’t need an introduction as the film’s lead actors themselves have raised everyone’s expectations. When you have superstars like Ben Kingsley and Amitabh Bachchan sharing screen space together, nothing can be bigger than that. Of course, Madhavan has a gigantic number of fans devoted to him in Chennai and this can furthermore yield a better opening for the film.
“Karthik Calling Karthik’, however, has kept everyone curious with its title. Karthik is an introvert whose life completely changes when he starts receiving phone calls from a person, who also claims to be Karthik. What follows next is a series of unexpected changes in Karthik’s life.
Well, this weekend will have one Tamil release and it is Gowtham Menon’s “Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya’. The film has received admirable promotion from the past one year with the posters featuring Silambarasan and Trisha completely with their rejuvenated looks. The people are keenly awaiting this film’s release. The film has been acquired by Udhayanidhi Stalin and is releasing with more prints. A.R. Rahman’s sensational music has indeed turned the attention of global audiences towards this film. It is worth mentioning that the Telugu version of this film, “Ye Maaya Chesava’, starring Nagarjuna’s son, Naga Chaitanya, and Tamil-speaking girl, Samantha, in lead roles will also release on the same day.
