Chelsea Handler to host the MTV Video Music Awards

Los Angeles, Aug 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Chelsea Handler is all set to host the MTV Video Music Awards, which are going to be held on the 12th of September. She is the bubbly and effervescent host of the show ‘Chelsea Lately’. Prior to her, the show has been hosted by the popular comedian Russell Brand. It is sure going to be a tough act for Chelsea to follow in his footsteps and do ample justice to the role of a host.
The news was confirmed by Chelsea herself on her show. She said about the new hosting opportunity that, “Everyone knows that when you think of rap music and hip-hop you think of Chelsea Lately, and that’s why I will be hosting.”
The show is going to be held on the 12th of the next month and the expected performers at the show are rapper Kanye West and the teenage music sensation Justin Bieber.
The winners of the awards are going to be decided by the public. The voting for deciding the winners would close on the 24th of August. Lady Gaga, who is well known for her eccentric makeovers and bizarre performances, is in the running for a number of awards. Eminem is closely following her with the second highest number of nominations.
