The first Award function of Bollywood in 2011 is gearing up the grand evening. Preparations are in full swing for the 17th Annual Star Screen Awards by Karbon Mobiles.
Bollywood has given some interesting releases in 2010 and the list includes variety of films starting from comedy, romantic, action-thriller, masala to satire. The industry has lots of glamour and new trends to offer the Awards event this year.
The small budget films have been great offering of the year. The unusual story-lines of such films also attracted the viewers. The Screen Selection Academy has finally announced the nomination list for this year. The event will take place on January 6 at the MMRDA Grounds in Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai.
Two Bollywood rival heroes Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are competing for the ‘Best Actor’ category. But surprisingly, their films Dabangg and My Name is Khan are missing from the ‘Best Film’ nomination list. Apart from these two, the list for the category includes the names like Ranbir Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah, Rishi Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Hrithik Roshan and Ajay Devgn.
The nominations for ‘Best Actress’ include the names like Anushka Sharma (Band Baaja Baaraat), Kajol (My Name Is Khan), Vidya Balan (Ishqiya), Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (Guzaarish) and Neetu Singh (Do Dooni Chaar).
In the list of ‘Best Film’ category, we have the names of Band Baaja Baaraat, Love Sex Aur Dhoka, Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai, Raajneeti and Udaan.
Interestingly, Vikramaditya Motwane’s low budget film Udaan got maximum 14 nominations, which is followed by Ishqiya with 13 nominations. Dabangg managed to be third in the list with total 12 nominations.
