Charlize Theron not planning to marry
June 30th, 2011 - 6:24 pm ICT by IANSLondon, June 30 (IANS) Actress Charlize Theron, who is campaigning for gay marriage to be made legal across the US, thinks marriage is a divine right but she does not want to get married.
Theron split with long-term partner Stuart Townsend last year.
“I really want for myself a long-term relationship. And I have been in long-term relationships. That’s the kind of union that I want. The actual ceremony is not something that is important to me but I see the importance for other people,” said the 35-year-old on Piers Morgan show.
She is pleased with New York government which allows same sex couples to marry but believes that the US government is not doing enough, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
“It’s a divine right and when government starts to tell us who can love and what is good love, I do have a problem with that. I have a problem with the fact that our government hasn’t stepped up enough to make this federal, to make this legal,” she said.
