Farrah Fawcett LOS ANGELES (BNO NEWS) — Actress Farrah Fawcett, who gained international fame from the TV-series “Charlie’s Angels”, died on Thursday. She was 62.

“I am sorry to say our Farrah has passed to a better place and left the pain and confines of her bed behind,” her publicist said in a brief statement. “She is free to be the woman we all knew and loved. So Few have touched so many. You all keep Fighting the Fight,” the statement concluded.

Fawcett passed away at 9.28 a.m. PST at St. John’s Heath Center in Santa Monica, California. Fawcett was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006 and began treatment which included chemotherapy and surgery.

“She’s gone. She now belongs to the ages,” Ryan O’Neal, her long-time partner, told People Magazine. “She’s now with her mother and sister and her God. I loved her with all my heart. I will miss her so very, very much. She was in and out of consciousness. I talked to her all through the night. I told her how very much I loved her. She’s in a better place now,” O’Neal said.

“She was with her team when she passed. Her eyes were open, but she didn’t say anything. But you could see in her eyes that she recognized us,” he added. O’Neal added that they plan to honor Fawcett with a funeral service at the downtown Catholic cathedral in Los Angeles later this week.

According to TMZ.com, besides her partner O’Neal, also present were her friend Alana Stewart, Mila Murphy and Dr. Piero. Her only child, Redmond, was not present as he is currently in jail. Earlier this year, Redmond was allowed to visit Farrah to say a last goodbye.

Late last month, according to the Reuters news agency, Ryan O’Neal said that Fawcett had agreed to marry him.
