Charlie Sheen to give $1million as donation to USO

Los Angeles, July 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actor Charlie Sheen is all set to give $1milllion as a donation to a military aid organization USO.

Charlie Sheen is presently the star of the show Anger Management and he is all set to give away 1% of the profits of the show to USO. It ought to be mentioned here that USO is a organization for the injured troops in Bethesda.

Needless to say the USO officials are thrilled over this huge donation. It is also the single largest donation that they have received from an individual. Since Charlie Sheen has pledged 1% of the profits, so the organization can also receive more than $1million.

The money would be donated in parts and the first installment is of $250,000 and it is going to be handed over to the President and CEO of USO – Sloan D. Gibson.

“The USO would like to thank Charlie Sheen for his very generous $1 million donation to our Operation Enduring Care Campaign and his interest in helping us lift the spirits of those who have endured so much to protect the freedoms we enjoy daily,” said General John I. Pray, Jr., who is the Executive Vice President and Joint Chief of Staff, U.S. Air Force.

Charlie Sheen said that, “It’s an honor for me to be able to give back to these men and women of the military who have done so much for all of us. They put their lives on the line for us every day, and I’m just happy that my work on Anger Management can bring a little bit of relief to the troops and their families.”
