Charlie Sheen to Get A New Court Date

May 30, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The ‘Two and a Half Men’ actor Charlie Sheen is all set to plea his case as new court dates have been set for the hearing of his case.

He had pleaded not guilty when his estranged wife Brook Mueller had slapped him with a domestic violence charge in Aspen. His charges constituted of a number of charges both felony and misdemeanors. While he claimed innocence, he may well change his stance if it means a lessening the jail sentence.

7th June has been set as the new court date and his lawyers claim that he has only agreed to discuss matters with the court of law. The additional date will actually help in checking out every small detail of the plea deal.

It is believed that Charlie Sheen will have to serve at least 5 years in jail if he is found guilty and does not concur with the court arrangements. On the other hand, he gets to serve only 45 days in jail if he admits to the misdemeanor charges brought against him with the felony cases being dismissed if he agrees to the plea deal.

Charlie Sheen might be thinking of accepting the opportunity provided when the case comes up for hearing on the new court date. He has already settled a custody dispute with Denise Richards, his Ex-wife. The entire rigmarole was initiated as the news of his arrest went on air.
