Dec. 15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Charlie Murphy’s wife, Tisha Taylor Murphy, passed away in her sleep on Sunday night. She had been battling against cancer for the past two years. Her death was a peaceful one. With her family by her side, she passed away in her home in New Jersey. A formal statement was issued by the publicist for Charlie Murphy, Lyndsey Jacobs. Although the family is evidently thankful that she died a painless death, on the other hand, they have to cope with the death of a member, that too so close to the Christmas season.

Charlie Murphy, the actor cum comedian, is the elder brother of Eddie Murphy. He had been married to Tisha Taylor Murphy for 12 years, since they exchanged the vows on August 12, 1997. They have been the proud parents of two children, a son, Xavier and a daughter, Eva. Tisha Taylor Murphy is remembered by her family as a loving mother and a great wife, and above all, an exceptional human being.

The family of the Murphys have requested the fans, friend and acquaintances to grant them some amount of privacy in this very difficult time of mourning. They have thanked everyone who has been with them for all the support throughout Tisha Taylor Murphy’s illness. Tisha Taylor Murphy is survived by her husband, Charlie Murphy, and her three children, one of whom is from Charlie Murphy’s previous marriage. No comments have been forthcoming from the bereaved family itself. Although fans and friends have been sending their condolences via email, there has been no attempt to contact the family for comments.
