John Travolta Nassau, Sep 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The two people who were charged with trying to extort money from John Travolta have been released by a court. One of the medics who treated Travolta’s son, Tarino Lightbourne and his lawyer and a politician, Pleasant Bridgewater were charged with trying to extort money from Travolta. Bridgewater resigned her position from her seat as a Senate in Bahamas as a result of the charge.

The two were charged following the death of the actor’s son in Bahamas. But the judge at Nassau dropped the charges after prosecutors told the court that the Hollywood legend was no more interested in continuing with the case.

The pair was accused of threatening to release private information about the death of the actor’s 16-year-old son to the public if the actor didn’t pay them $25 million.

It is believed that the actor is failing to continue with the case because of the seemingly delay in the retrial. “The Travolta family has said that this matter has caused them unbelievable stress and pain and they wish to put this whole thing behind them,” Braithwaite said.

A judge ordered in October last year that the case be heard again, after a politician in Bahamas suggested that the jury had acquitted one of the accused.
