London, Jan 20 (ANI): Canadian pop diva Celine Dion has emerged as America’s top performer after beating the Dave Matthews Band and country singer Kenny Chesney.
Compilers Pollstar said that Dion’s climb to the top of America’s Ultimate Top 10 list was due to the combined sales of her album as well as her concert ticket sales which includes her five-year, sold-out Caesars Palace stint, A New Day.
Dion’s consistent success from 2000 to the end of 2009 have put her at the top of the new decade countdown, reports the Daily Express.
According to Pollstar, Dion earned 326.4 million pounds in concert ticket sales during the decade and added 141 million pounds in album sales, taking her 10-year tally to 467.4 million pounds - 3.1 million pounds more than second-placed Chesney.
Dave Matthews Band finished third on the list, while The Beatles came in fourth and U2 rounded out the top five.
Also making the top 10 were Toby Keith, Bruce Springsteen, The Rolling Stones, Tim McGraw and Britney Spears. (ANI)
