Celine Dion inspired by Mandela for baby name
October 30th, 2010 - 12:30 am ICT by IANSLondon, Oct 29 (IANS) Singer Celine Dion and her husband Rene Angelil named their twin sons Eddy and Nelson after record producer Eddy Marnay and former South African president Nelson Mandela.
Dion and Angelil want their children to be inspired by their names, because they were so inspired by these men.
“Eddy is a major influence in both Celine and Rene’s lives. They want their children to be inspired by their names, because they were so inspired by these men,” contactmusic.com quoted a source as saying.
The few minutes they were able to spend with Nelson Mandela they were impressed by the human being he is, said Angelil.
The twins, who were conceived after six in vitro fertilisation (IVF) attempts, were released from hospital Thursday after requiring medical attention due to being born premature.
