Celebrities throng Prince’s concert
December 21st, 2010 - 1:33 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattNew York, Dec 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Prince’s concert was held on Saturday with thousands attending the event at the Madison Square Gardens.
There were a host of celebrities at the venue. Among them were Whoopi Goldberg, Alicia Keys and Spike Lee among others who joined him on stage at a point. The show which was sold out was part of the “Welcome 2 America Tour” throughout the United States which began on the 14th day of December.
The show has been described as “electrifying” and it made nonsense of the criticisms of the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. He has often been criticized for only highlighting obscure tracks during his concerts. This time though, that changed completely and the Prince really showed some class.
The 52-year-old delivered hit after hit from most of his highly successful albums. Some of the songs included Kiss, 1999, Purple Rain, Let’s Go Crazy, Raspberry Beret, Cream, The Beautiful Ones and U Got the Look
The hits did greatly thrilled the fans and Prince at a point remarked, “Too many hits” during the show.
After the show, the pleased crowd gave Prince a standing ovation as he left the stage.
