The royal honor has made the gorgeous actress and her fans ecstatic. The star said that the honor is completely overwhelming for her and her parents.

She has said that as a British subject she feels extremely proud of being one of the few celebrities selected by the Queen for the award. Queen Elizabeth II has given the honors to great achievers that include the founder of the shoe label Jimmy Choo and former rocker Graham Nash. The ‘Mask Of Zorro’ star joins the list of honorees announced to mark the official birthday of the Queen.

Catherine Zeta-Jones, 40, began her career in British Theaters and later moved to Hollywood. She married Hollywood star Michael Douglas despite being exactly 25 years younger to him.

The recent performance of Catherine Zeta-Jones showed her playing a 40-year-old mom of two falling for a younger man in the romantic comedy ‘The Rebound’. Considered by many to be the most beautiful Hollywood actress, the humble beginnings of the star has made her maintain a low and scandal-free profile.

The 2010 Birthday Honors by the Queen will also award Knighthood to screenwriter Ronald Harwood. The 75-year-old writer’s credits include ‘The Pianist’ and ‘The Dresser’. Sir Ronald Harwood said that the honors are bigger than the Oscars because they have a certain secrecy about them.

Though he was aware of it, he was asked to not reveal it to the media. Catherine Zeta-Jones will now add the initials CBE after her name.
