Cate Blanchett Mermerizes Audiences With Her Performance In “A Steetcar Named Desire”

Nov.9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Australian actress Cate Blanchett who is known for portraying a variety of characters with much success was in news recently for her spectacular performance at the show ‘A Steetcar Named Desire’ that is being staged at the Kennedy Center. Cate and her husband Andrew Upton are the artistic directors of the Sydney Theatre Company which produced the show. The show, which was staged for the first time in the Kennedy Center during the end of October, has already gathered a huge number of audience for itself. The classic Tennessee Williams play along with the scintillating performances by all the leading actors is being appreciated by all the viewers.
Cate Blanchett, who plays the pivotal role of Blanche DuBois has been successful in portraying the complexity as well as the vulnerability of the character. In each of the scenes, the actress has highlighted the different facets of the role with a certain degree of perfection that has always been associated with the actor. The play has been directed by Norwegian actress and noted director Liv Ullmann and is gradually gaining enormous popularity. The interesting story line and mesmerizing performances by the entire cast has ensured that the show is hugely successful. All the tickets for the show is sold out much earlier and as a result it has turned into one of the most successful shows of the season.
Cate Blanchett is known to have won multiple awards including Golden Globe Awards, BAFTA, as well as an Academy Award for her impressive body of work over the years. With this, she enthralls once again. Her next release would be opposite Russell Crowe in the movie ‘Robin Hood’, scheduled to be released next year.
