Washington, Jan 15 (ANI): All six major stars of High School Musical have officially signed on for third instalment of the smash-hit Disney franchise.
Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Productions has announced that Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman and Lucas Grabeel will star in High School Musical 3: Senior Year, a feature film.
“We’re thrilled to have all of the talented cast members who helped to make High School Musical such an incredible phenomenon joining us for this big screen motion picture event,” E! Online quoted Oren Aviv, president of motion picture production for Disney, as stating.
Kenny Ortega, who will direct the film, is excited about working one last time with the cast.
“I am the luckiest guy in the world and I know it. This will be our last time together and I love working with these kids so much. It’s going to be great,” Ortega said.
Tisdale, who will reprise her role as school diva Sharpay, said that she is excited to return to East High set in Utah for one last time.
“I’m excited. But it’s going to be sad. It seems like it will be graduation and I’ll be crying while we’re filming,” she said.
High School Musical 3: Senior Year finds Troy and Gabriella on the verge of separating as they head off to different colleges. The Wildcats help the two lovebirds stage an elaborate musical, which chronicles their entire high school experience.
Apparently, the pending money matters have been settled and image issues addressed since the wait-and-see period following the record-breaking premiere of High School Musical 2 in August. (ANI)
