Oct. 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) 11 year old Wendy, Hillary Duff, has now grown up to celebrate her 22nd birthday. She recently celebrated the day the on 28th of September 2009. Almost a decade has passed but the “Casper Meets Wendy” story still shines out. Wendy’s character was as endearing to fans as Casper.

The movie revolved around an eleven year old goody-good witch played by Hilary Duff trying to prove herself to her three witch aunts, unaware of the bad guy Desmond played by George Hamilton who is out to kill her after knowing she is to become the greatest witch in the future. While dodging Desmond, Wendy meets the friendly ghost-Casper(Jeremy Foley), and they hit it off instantly. Wendy goes on to cast powerful magic bringing Desmond to her doorstep. A fight ensues which results in Desmond falling in the “Mystic Abyss”. Wendy goes on to become the greatest witch for the sole reason- she befriended a ghost.

Casper Meets Wendy went on to win the Children’s Programming - Electronic Visual Effects awards. The movie also got Hilary duff nominated for the young artist award after which she went on to do projects like The Soul Collector , and played the famous character of Lizzie Mcguire. She also won two “Young Artist Awards”, a “Rolling Stone Award” and a “Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards”. Some of her famous projects include “Cheaper by the Dozen” along with Steve Martin, “Agent Cody Banks”, “A Cinderella Story”, etc.

Hilary Duff also turned singer and songwriter with a number of albums, and singles to her credit. Her latest sound track is “Any Other Day” for the movie, “What Goes Up”. Hilary’s upcoming projects include “Foodfight”, “Provinces of Night” and “The story of Bonnie and Clyde”.
