Cartoon Network now available in Sri Lanka
August 17th, 2009 - 9:44 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Aug 17 (IANS) Now kids in Sri Lanka will get to see popular cartoon series such as “Dexter’s Laboratory”, “Powerpuff Girls” and “Samurai Jack”, courtsey Turner International that is expanding its footprint in South Asia.
Turner has launched its leading kids’ channel Cartoon Network on Sri Lanka’s terrestrial English channel Art Television. The partnership came to effect Sunday.
The channel will be shown 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. everyday and will telecast an hour long programme that will show popular cartoon series like “Dexter’s Laboratory”, “Powerpuff Girls”, “Samurai Jack”, “Johnny Bravo”, et al, said a press release.
“Sri Lanka is an extremely important market for Turner International. This partnership will prove to be a win-win initiative for the consumer as they get to enjoy the content from the world’s largest cartoon library and on a platform with the largest reach in the country,” said Siddharth Jain, vice president and deputy general manager, Distribution and Business Operations, South Asia, Turner International.
Art Television is a 24-hour channel and plays host foreign channels like CNN.
