carrie Mar 30 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Carrie Underwood and fiancé Mike Fisher have been an item since 2008. He proposed to her in December with a stunning diamond ring, which Carrie of course loves, but said she would have been just as happy without. She said recently: “He could have put a twisty-tie on my finger and that would have worked.” Although she considers herself a pretty traditional girl, she has a few non-traditional ideas for her wedding.

Carrie and hockey player Mike Fisher met at a concert in 2008, and were introduced to one another by a friend. Their relationship started off slow, mostly because of the long distance aspect of it, but they made it work. Their first official appearance as an engaged couple was at the Grammy’s. They were both stunning as he met her at the end of the red carpet.

It has been difficult to plan a wedding with the busy schedules which they both keep, but Carrie has let a few of their decisions slip. Some of those were, in Carrie’s words, “I’m Southern. I like big hair and eyeliner. I want my wedding to be me, so I’ll probably be rocking some big hair and eyeliner… I want [the dress] to be pretty traditional. I think I want flowers on it – not real flowers. [The designer will] probably be someone I’ve worked with before.” She also told us later, “We’re kind of doing cupcakes. I consider myself a very traditional person. More than anything, we’re going to get married, that’s the important part. And we want everyone to have a good time, so we’re doing some things like that, that are a little bit different.”

So Carrie’s wedding cake will be cupcakes that they will be ordering from IveyCake in Franklin Tenn. Ivey Childers who is the wife of Carrie’s bass player runs the bakery which Carrie says “makes the most amazing cupcakes in the universe.”
