carrieOct.21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Former Miss California Carrie Prejean has been sued by the pageant officials in reply to the suit she had filed against them.

Prejean had filed a case against Keith Lewis, the executive director of the California pageant and also Shanna Moakler, who was the co-director of the pageant. She charges them for defaming her, disclosing private facts, infliction of mental torture and discriminating against her based on religious grounds. In her lawsuit, she says that the pageant officials kept forcing her to stop taking the name of god. Shanna has since resigned in protest to Carrie’s lawsuit. The pageant sued Carrie on the grounds that her case was baseless and that she strike out the clause in her suit that dealt with the disclosure of private facts.

Carrie had earlier been fired by the pageant, as according to reports, she had failed to appear in several shows. However, her agent was reportedly of the opinion that she was actually fired because of the controversial remarks she had made during the Miss USA contest in the question and answer round. She was asked about gay marriages and she had opposed it pretty strongly.

The clause in Carrie’s lawsuit that involves disclosure of private facts has been declared as groundless by the pageant officials. They have filed a counter case asking her to return the money they paid for the surgery, saying it was already made public when she appeared in a bikini during the swimsuit round of the Miss USA contest. The pageant has determined that the $5,200 that they paid for the breast augmentation would be donated to a charity upon returning.
