Carrie Prejean fired for posing for the PlayboyJune 11th, 2009 - 9:25 pm ICT by GD
Miss California, Carrie Prejean has been fired by Donald Trump. The Miss California crown has been taken away from her, for posing semi-nude in a photo shoot for Playboy. The raging debate whether she has been fired or not, was finally resolved when the committee ultimately declared their decision.
The decision which was announced yesterday was that the celebrity model will no longer be a part of the Miss California team. Prejean had earlier survived scandalous controversies surrounding semi-nude photos and her stand on same sex marriages. On both occasions, Prejean had to face stormy episodes but managed to survive unscratched.
According to Prejean, Keith Lewis, from the pageant management, had given her the “Playboy” offer. Also, the offer to appear in Spencer and Heidi Pratt’s “I’m a Celebrity… Get me out of here!” had come from Lewis. Lewis, in a counter statement has said that it was on Prejean’s request that the offers were passed onto her. Prejean had requested them to discuss with her any probable offer that might come up, before actually turning it down. Prejean said that Lewis informed her that Playboy was offering her $ 140,000 for the shoot. Both offers were, however, rejected by her.
In the latest stand-off between the pageant officials and the beauty queen, even Donald Trump could not save her from her ousting. Prejean also retorted to Trump’s remarks to Harvey Levin that her behavior towards the pageant officials was below expectation. She reiterated that she has been respectful to people throughout, even when they have not given her the due respect she deserves.
