July 19, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Carlos Santana, one of the worlds’s most recognized guitarists, would soon be seen performing at the site of the historic Woodstock. Woodstock was kick started in the year 1969 and Santana would be performing in a concert at a new arts pavilion. The new arts pavilion is a few yards away from the actual, legendary stage where his band had performed “Soul Sacrifice’ decades ago.

So it definitely must be a nostalgic trip for Santana. He is more than just excited and glad to perform here; since this is going to be his first performance post the legendary show that he had put up in the 60s.

The ten time Grammy winner is one of the earliest Woodstock performers and along with the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Ravi Shankar, Joan Baez and others had spearheaded a musical and spiritual revolution.

He is also someone, according to the organizers who aptly embodies the spirit of the festival. Shannon McSweeney, representing the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts claims that his return to the Woodstock site wouldn’t be anything short of a magic. It would be extremely special. Steve Winwood, another legend would be performing on the very same day as well.
