Carlos Santana-Guitar Heaven, Greatest Guitar Classics of All Time
September 28th, 2010 - 10:38 pm ICT by Angela Kaye MasonSep 28 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The new album from Carlos Santana, Guitar Heaven is being compared to being in a music store as a customer plays different classics such as “Smoke On The Water”, “Whole Lotta Love” and “Sunshine Of Your Love”. The main difference, according to reviewer ‘Andy Gill’, is that the customer is Carlos Santana, and he has brought his friends, Joe Cocker, Chris Cornell and Scott Weiland along with him to sing back up.
Gill calls the album uninspired and stated that the exception is the song, While My Guitar Gently Weeps” which features India.Aries on vocals, along with Yo-Yo Ma’s cello, and several trills from Santana himself. The solo is called “elegant” and is said to be much better suited to Santana’s style.
