The famous comedian, writer and actor of United States Carlos Mencia (actual name Ned Arnel Mencia) was born in 1967 in Honduras. Mencia quickly climbed the stairs of success through the shows The Comedy Store and The L.A. Cabaret. Mencia achieved the title of “International Comedy Grand Championship” on Buscando Estrallas. The show Buscando Estrallas was a Latino version of Star Search and fetched the comedian a break to appear in a series of popular comedy shows.
In 1994 the actor hosted HBO’s Latino comedy showcase Loco Slam. Carlos became the most admired comedian in United States with his sharp and witty remarks. Whether it is a street interview, comedy parody or studio comedy, Mencia’s sense of humor earned him widespread public appreciation. Mencia continued with his stand-up comedies successfully and in 2001 he headlined the famous “Three Amigos” with Freddy Soto and Pablo Francisco. In 2004 the actor was approached by Comedy Central to start his own program. In 2005 the Comedy Central announced Mencia’s 30minutes comedy show, “Mind of Mencia”. The show was a blend of stand-up comedy and sketch comedy and became popular from its second season.
Recently, the Si TV has approached the star for its “Take A Lead” campaign. The star will be featured in the public-service announcements, which aims to provide positive role models for the next generation of Latino leaders. On June 13, Mencia will be presenting his talent in the F.M. Kirby center channel. The show is expected to be a grand success and the tickets are selling at $36.50 and are expected to reach $41.50 on the day of the show.
